Children’s National is part of the same Washington Hospital Center complex on Michigan Avenue NW where the MedStar helicopter frequents. Located prominently on a hill near McMillan Reservoir, the large dark complex visible can be seen from many parts of DC.
Children’s National utilizes the SkyBear helicopter for patient transport. The distinctive red helicopter can be seen flying between the DC hospital a neighboring hospitals. The service is maintained by the Pennsylvania-based STAT MedEvac.
Viewing Tips
It’s very common to see this helicopter flying to and from the Washington Hospital Center in the middle of the district.
